general chiropractic care

Health is the natural order of things. Nature is incapable of programming for failure.
If you are not in full health something is interfering with the programming. Chiropractic looks for interference and removes it.

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical, all-natural form of health care. It is highly effective for managing neuromusculoskeletal (nerves, muscles, and joint) conditions. In fact research has confirmed that chiropractic is as effective as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Diclofenac etc.) for low back pain without side effects such as digestive tract irritation. But chiropractic care is not just about back pain. It can also be effective for managing conditions such as headaches, numbness, tingling, weakness, extremity joint pain and more. The key to robust health is to have each and every organ, tissue and body system functioning at their highest level. Unobstructed, the nervous system orchestrates and conducts these functions in a highly organised and finely tuned fashion.

Real health is more than how you feel. Chiropractic is an integral branch of today’s healthcare and as a science, is based on the premise that full health depends upon an optimal fully functioning nervous system.

Chiropractic is a lifestyle. Chiropractors use skilled adjustments to correct joint dysfunction of the spine. The function of the spine is the protection of the extremely delicate nervous system. As a trade-off between this protective function and the mobility of the body the spine is made up of bony segments called vertebrae with cartilage discs in between. These are held in alignment by the ligaments and muscles surrounding them, maintaining a certain tone.

The Nervous System is the body’s most important organ. It is employed for the purposeful transfer of information around the body. It allows organisation of growth and development. It houses the mind, processes the senses, enables action and reaction, and allows expression of personality and purpose. Nerves arise in the brain, travel down the spinal cord where they branch off through openings between your vertebrae, and connect to every part of the body. This connection is vital and looking after your nervous system is integral of good health. Health and well being are, more often than not, the product of looking after ourselves. People mostly attend chiropractor because they experience pain. But pain is often an accumulation of the tone altering stresses in the spine. This is the form of spinal dysfunction by subluxation.

Subluxations
Various stresses cause spinal bones to subluxate i.e. come out of optimal alignment, creating a vertebral subluxation - a form of spinal dysfunction. These tone-altering stresses come in three basic forms; physical, chemical, and emotional. In balance, these forces maintain the spinal alignment.

Vertebral subluxations are a form of spinal dysfunction and, by definition, fail to adequately protect the nervous system. Vertebral subluxations instead, silently compromise neurological function so limiting the capability of that body to maintain itself to the best of its ability. The nervous system depends upon the fullest ability to transfer accurate information and needs to function at its optimum level. Chiropractors reduce and correct vertebral subluxations through spinal adjustments. No other healthcare providers are trained or competent to look for, or correct, vertebral subluxations.
